Prior to coming to Toledo, I was a Postdoctoral Scholar and Faculty in Residence in International Studies and International Programs at North Carolina State University, where I lived in the Global Village, a living-learning community for study abroad students and students interested in living abroad. I received my doctorate from the University of Virginia in August 2013.
I combine politics and law to research, educate, and advocate on topics relating to human rights norm development and contestation, particularly at the United Nations Human Rights Council. My research, teaching, and service aims to empower students and those most in need. Please visit any of the major sections to learn more about each area.
In my spare time, I run, do triathlons, game, and hang out with my 3.5 basset hounds, cat, and spouse.
